Baptism

is the beginning of a life journey for the Christian. Children of Christians are baptised as a mark of the faith of the parents that they will bring the child up to love God. Baptism marks the start of a journey of faith, which involves turning away from all that is evil, turning towards Christ and becoming a member of the local and worldwide Christian family.

Baptisms are held during a Sunday service, usually when there is not a Holy Communion. We normally require that someone enquiring about baptism attend church for three months prior to the baptism date.

Thanksgiving for the Birth of a Child

This is a simple service to say thank you to God for the birth of a child. It is not a baptism and does not involve any promises. It is a good way to begin to think about future baptism but does not commit you.
